Anna Helwing

With more than 20 years of experience at the forefront of the global art market, I have a vast international network and an extensive expertise working with collectors, galleries, private dealers, auction houses, art fairs, estate representatives, artists, museums, art historians and critics.

I successfully ran my own enterprise Anna Helwing Gallery in Los Angeles for many years and worked for the notable galleries Hauser & Wirth and Eva Presenhuber, both in Zurich, as well as for Sprüth Magers in Los Angeles. I wrote for newspapers such as Neue Zürcher Zeitung and Handelszeitung and contributed to various exhibition catalogs as well as art magazines. In August 2018 I joined the VIP Relations Team of Art Basel as VIP Manager Europe & Americas as well as VIP Representative Switzerland, and in early 2021   I was appointed Executive Director at Galerie Haas Zürich, a gallery focusing on Modern, Post War and Contemporary Art.

From 2013 to 2015 I served as a member on the Advisory Board of the Zurich University of the Arts, as part of the Postgraduate Program in Curating. In 2020 I was invited to become a mentor at I LIKE NETWORKING, a networking and mentoring initiative out of London devised exclusively for women to achieve their goals and create a more diverse and supportive workforce. Over the course of several one-on-one mentoring sessions, I coach a mentee to help her to develop her resume, skills and personal brand, enabling her to unlock latent potential.

I hold an MA in Art History and German Literature and Linguistics from the University of Zurich, with a final thesis on the internationally acclaimed Austrian artist Franz West, and a CAS in Finance, Strategy and Leadership Management from the University in St. Gallen HSG.
